PURPOSE:To improve sealability as well as to prevent any linking from occurring by dispersing the closing pores of specific porosity uniformly, and specifying the degree of flatness in a sliding surface, in a ceramic sliding member used in a valve or the like. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic sliding member 1 uniformly disperses a lot of pores 2 made independent with one another into formation, setting the porosity to 3-30 volume percentage. These pores 2 are uniformly distributed to an inner part and a surface of the sliding member 1, and a part where the pores 2 on a sliding surface 3 are not existent should set its flatness being less than 3mum. With this constitution, in the case where two sliding members 1 themselves are pressed to each other for sliding motion, any linking is preventable as a sliding area is reduced by these pores 2 on the sliding surface 3. Furthermore, at the time of interposing a fluid there, this fluid is collected in the pores 2 and thereby a self-lubricating action is produced so that the extent of sliding torque is reduced. In addition, since these pores are uniformly distributed in the inner part, even if friction occurs, the sliding surface 3 is always keepable in the same state. |
