PURPOSE:To provide a composition, excellent in contrastradiographic effects on magnetic resonance imaging radiography for diagnosing the digestive tract and utilizable as a food and drink or a contrast medium. CONSTITUTION:The contrastradiographic composition for the digestive tract comprises a hardly digestible component having water holding properties, preferably a reducing oligosaccharide as a component for positive effects at a relaxation time T1: enhanced image radiography according to the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) method. The content of this component is an amount so as to provide 0.03-0.25g/ml concentration in the solution at the time of use. This composition migrates to the lower digestive tract in its state of hardly any influence produced from digestion and absorption in the digestive tract and a slight influence of dilution by the secretion of the digestive juice due to a stimulus to the digestive tract by using this reducing oligosaccharide which is the composition having a low absorptivity by the intestinal tract to shorten the relaxation time: T1. As a result, an image of uniform quality can be obtained and this composition can be used as a contrast medium for the lower digestive tract. |
