Tension regulator consists of electro-valve (12) controlled by timer (13) which acts as discharge valve of feed pipe (5) of the pneumatic cylinder acting as a brake on the elastic. Also an electronic memory circuit (14) programmed with various combinations controlled by a series of push buttons (15,15',15''), each reproducing a pre-selected cycle by successive operation of an independent push button (16). All the elements except button (16) and the pneumatic cylinder are housed in casing (1) with means of attaching to the sewing machine.
