The drive head (10) of a windscreen wiper has forks (14) which accept the wiper arm, and a tapered serrated bore (16) which fits onto the wiper drive shaft. The removable cover (40) has sides which surround the drive head, containing internal rails (48,50) which slide into slots (34) in the drive head. A locking projection (60) at the bottom of a rail seats on the bottom surface of the locking head. The edge (66') of the cover extends over the end of the wiper arm and protects it. ADVANTAGE - The cover provides a stronger protection for the drive head and the base of the wiper arm and improved retention of the cover.
