PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid applying device which applies liquid onto a surface of an object to be coated with an even thickness while suppressing the number of used components and continues the evenness even when the liquid applying device is used for a long term.SOLUTION: A liquid applying device includes: immersion and application means which immerses a long-size object to be coated into liquid and applies the liquid onto a surface of the object to be coated; conveyance means for conveying the object to be coated which is coated with the liquid by the immersion and application means and is pulled up vertically with respect to a liquid level of the liquid with a prescribed speed; load means which is provided on the upstream side rather than the immersion and application means and applies a prescribed load to the object to be coated which is conveyed by the conveyance means when setting a side of feeding the object to be coated to the immersion and application means as the upstream side and setting a side of discharging the object to be coated from the immersion and application means as the downstream side; drying means for drying the object to be coated which is coated with the liquid; cooling means for cooling the object to be coated which is dried; conveyance speed measuring means for measuring a conveyance speed of the object to be coated; and control means for controlling the conveyance means based on a measurement result of the conveyance speed measuring means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
