PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to early detect abnormality of a mechanical brake for braking a servo motor or a shaft driven by the servo motor.SOLUTION: A motor control system comprises: a signal reception unit 27 for receiving a signal for activating a mechanical brake 13; a position monitoring unit 28 that uses a position detector 19 to acquire a history of a servo motor 12's rotation positions until the servo motor 12's rotation has stopped after having received the signal; a displacement amount calculation unit 29 for calculating the servo motor 12's rotation displacement amount until the servo motor 12's rotation has stopped after having received the signal, from the history; and an abnormality determination unit 30 for determining that the mechanical brake 13 has abnormality, when the calculated rotation displacement amount has exceeded a predetermined first threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
