PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection element capable of relaxing a stress that increases along with an increase in size of a fuse element, and maintaining stable pre-arcing time-current characteristics even with a variation of ambient temperature.SOLUTION: The protection element includes: a first electrode 12 and a second electrode 13; a fuse element 17 connected across the first and second electrodes 12 and 13; and a housing for supporting the fuse element 17.
