PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that in an image forming apparatus including a fixing part in which a roller is heated by an external heating member and a toner image is fixed to a recording material by the heat of the roller, offset toner is adhered to the external heating member.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an image forming part, the fixing part which includes a roller, a heating member which comes into contact with the roller, and a backup member which comes into contact with the roller, to form a nip part and heats a recording material on which a toner image is formed, while conveying it in the nip part, to fix the toner image to the recording material, a temperature detection part which detects the temperature of the heating member, and a control part which controls power supplied to the heating member, so that the detection temperature of the temperature detection part becomes target temperature. The control part makes the target temperature in at least a partial first period in a period in which the nip part is an interval between a preceding recording material and a following recording material higher than the target temperature in a second period in which the recording material is conveyed in the nip part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17 |
