PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the loss of RCP frames due to communication loss without prolonging a communication time.SOLUTION: A facsimile machine transmits image information via an IP line, and operates in an error correction mode in accordance with ITU-T recommendation T.4 annex A. The facsimile machine includes RCP frame transmission means 25 for transmitting an RCP frame 12 meaning the end of a message 44, and the transmission time of the RCP frame 12 transmitted by the RCP frame transmission means 25 is made to be a prescribed time or more, i.e., 20 msec or more.
