PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual image display apparatus which can form an excellent image by preventing long-term deterioration caused by effect of ultraviolet light.SOLUTION: A light guide device 20 is covered by a shade member 29 including an ultraviolet light absorption member UA at a second reflective surface 21b side which is a surface side. The shade member 29 absorbs in advance an ultraviolet light component UV from outside light traveling toward the light guide device 20, thereby preventing the light guide device 20 from being affected by the ultraviolet light component UV. In other words, by preventing long-term deterioration caused by ultraviolet light, a virtual image display apparatus 100 can form an excellent image. Further, with the above arrangement, the shade member 29 absorbs the ultraviolet light component UV, thereby eventually serving to protect an observer's eyes EY from the ultraviolet light component UV.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
