PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core with a gap which facilitates adjustment of DC superposition characteristics, has a small variation in the characteristics, and is excellent in a manufacturing efficiency.SOLUTION: A core 10 with a gap is formed by: cutting off a mold core 20 including an annular magnetic body made of a magnetic material and a resin coating part covering the magnetic body at a first cutting part and a second cutting part which traverse an outer peripheral surface and an inner peripheral surface and come closer to each other toward an inner peripheral direction of the mold core, to obtain a body 30 having a body side first end surface cut off at the first cutting part and a body side second end surface cut off at the second cutting part, and a segment 40 having a segment side first end surface cut off at the first cutting part and a segment side second end surface cut off at the second cutting part; and arranging the segment into a cutout part 31 formed between the body side first end surface and the body side second end surface of the body so that at lease one of the body side first end surface and the segment side first end surface, and the body side second surface and the segment side second surface face each other so as to have a gap 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
