PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a desired output image from a plurality of originals that are placed on an original platen, without imposing a burden on a user.SOLUTION: An image reader 5 of a multifunction peripheral 1 comprises: an image reading part 31 for reading a source image of an original OR on an original platen 33; an image processing part 58 for generating an output image by applying image processing to the source image of the original OR; an effective region detection part 55 for detecting an effective region in which the original OR is present and an ineffective region in which the original OR is not present, on the original platen 33; an original image extraction part 56 for extracting a plurality of original images corresponding to a plurality of originals OR respectively, from the source images that the image reading part 31 has read the plurality of originals OR on the original platen 33; and an output mode selection part 57 capable of selecting one of an individual output mode in which the plurality of original images that have been extracted by the original image extraction part 56 are output as individual output images, respectively, and a collective output mode in which the plurality of original images that have been extracted by the original image extraction part regarding the source image are collected and arranged in the output image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
