PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently generate image data for recording.SOLUTION: A reading unit of a copying device repeatedly executes the operation of reading an image of a document in a first direction, in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, thereby generating pixel data of each pixel representing the image of the document. A compression unit compresses a group of pixel data generated by the reading unit for each of the sections (R1, R2, R3, R4) having a boundary along the second direction, which is a plurality of sections defined by dividing the image of the document in a single direction, to generate compressed image data (D3) for each section. A decompression unit generates decompressed image data corresponding to the compressed image data (D3). A rotation processing unit rotates the decompressed image data by 90 degrees. A recording unit executes a recording operation of forming an image of the document on a sheet on the basis of the decompressed image data after the rotation processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
