PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform sharpness recovery processing, where brightness drop is less likely to be perceived, more simply than conventional.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus has acquisition means for acquiring output conditions corresponding to the characteristics of lowering the sharpness of an image formed by an image forming apparatus, selection means selecting parameters for recovering the sharpness of an image on the basis of the output conditions, and recovery means performing the sharpness recovery processing of image data by using the parameters thus selected. The selection means selects such parameters that the brightness characteristics of an image formed by the image forming apparatus for the spatial frequency are constant or decrease, with no inflection point or discontinuous point from a predetermined frequency to the visual limit frequency.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
