PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tripod type constant velocity universal joint capable of achieving a lower cost by prolonging the life time of a tool for finish machining each trunnion journal and shortening a machining time.SOLUTION: The outer diameter face of the trunnion journal at its base end side further than a peripheral recessed groove is only a finish machined face. The outer diameter face of the trunnion journal at its front end side further than the peripheral recessed groove remains as a heat treated face. The outer diameter size of the outer diameter face of the trunnion journal at its front end side further than the peripheral recessed groove is equal to or less than the outer diameter size of the trunnion journal at its base end side further than the peripheral recessed groove.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
