PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having low power consumption in a display device utilizing a liquid crystal material exhibiting a blue phase.SOLUTION: The display device has: a first substrate having a pixel part where a pixel including a transistor is disposed; a second substrate opposing to the first substrate; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The liquid crystal layer includes a liquid crystal material that exhibits a blue phase. In the transistor, a gate is electrically connected to a scanning line, one of a source and a drain is electrically connected to a signal line, and the other of the source and the drain is electrically connected to an electrode; and the transistor has an oxide semiconductor layer having a hydrogen concentration of 5×10/cmor less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
