PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin quality evaluation method for easily and appropriately evaluating skin quality.SOLUTION: A skin quality evaluation method comprises; preparing a lipid sample from a sample of skin stratum corneum of a subject; quantifying a nonhydroxyacyl-phytosphingosine ceramide component and a nonhydroxyacyl-sphingosine ceramide component contained in the prepared lipid sample of the subject; calculating a ratio of quantified amounts of nonhydroxyacyl-phytosphingosine ceramide component and nonhydroxyacyl-sphingosine ceramide component; and evaluating skin quality of the subject from the computed ceramide component quantity ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: None
