PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus capable of accurately detecting an ink amount in a sub-tank.SOLUTION: An inkjet recording apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a recording head discharging an ink; a sub-tank containing the ink supplied to the recording head; an ink tank containing the ink supplied to the sub-tank; detection means that can detect an ink amount in the sub-tank; and a volume changing member disposed between the recording head and the sub-tank and capable of changing an internal volume, the ink being supplied from the ink tank to the sub-tank by repeatedly executing a first operation for switching a state of the volume changing member from a first state of a predetermined volume to a second state larger in volume than the first state and a second operation for switching the state from the second state to the first state. The inkjet recording apparatus comprises control means prohibiting the detection means to detect the ink amount during execution of the first operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
