PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce bubbles occurring in an absorber when an ink of an ink absorber stored in a cap is idly suctioned.SOLUTION: A recording device includes: a cap 431 which may cover a discharge surface 301 of a recording head 300, on which a discharge port for discharging an ink is formed; negative pressure means which makes a pressure in the cap into a negative pressure; an absorber 434 provided in the cap and configured to absorb the ink discharged from the discharge port; an atmosphere communication part 437 which is formed in the cap and opens the atmosphere in the cap; and an air passage avoidance part (a guide part) 439 which is disposed between the atmosphere communication part and the absorber, changes flow of air flowing from the atmosphere communication part into the cap, and is fixed to a fixing member 433.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
