PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior material for a lithium ion battery which can obtain excellent moldability irrespective of humidity environment.SOLUTION: A base material layer 11, a first adhesive layer 12, a metal foil layer 13, a corrosion prevention treatment layer 14, a second adhesive layer 15, and a sealant layer 16 are sequentially laminated. The base material layer 11 has a water absorption rate defined by JIS K 7209: 2000 of 0.1% or more and 3% or less. An exterior material 1 for lithium ion battery comprises naylon film in which in a tensile test (Tensile test of sample stored at 23°C, 40% RH for 24 hours in an environment of 23°C, 40% RH, sample width of 6 mm, gauge distance of 35 mm, tensile speed of 300 mm/min.), the stress value at 10% stretching is 110 MPa or less in both MD and TD directions, and is 70 MPa or more in at least one of the MD direction and the TD direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
