PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for adequately estimating the movement direction of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A movement direction estimation system includes: an intensity acquisition section for acquiring detection intensities being intensities when a sonic wave that has been output from an output unit arranged in a vehicle and reflected against a road surface is detected by each one of multiple detectors arranged at mutually different arrangement positions on the lower surface of the vehicle; and an estimation section for estimating the movement direction of the vehicle on the basis of correspondence relationship between the arrangement position and the detection intensity concerning each one of the multiple detectors.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
