摘要

The present invention relates to a composition for freeze-preserving pig sperm, containing Curcuma longa-derived curcumin or microalgae-derived astaxanthin as an antioxidant, in addition to a conventionally used a freeze-preserving agent. The present invention further relates to a method for freeze-preserving pig sperm, including a step of treating the pig sperm with the composition and then freeze-preserving the same thereafter. The use of the composition for freeze-preserving pig sperm can minimize damage on the pig sperm when freeze-preserving pig sperm having superior varieties. Thus, the composition can be widely applied to development of pig varieties.
