PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor which enables improvement of rust prevention performance and maintains versatility of a valve plate.SOLUTION: A compressor includes: a housing including a cylinder block 12 and a rear housing 14 coupled to the cylinder block 12; and an iron made valve plate 31 disposed between the cylinder block 12 and the rear housing 14. The compressor further includes: a belt-like member 34 which is formed by a rubber material or a resin material and covers an entire outer peripheral surface of the valve plate 31; a projection part 42 which is formed on an outer peripheral surface 23 of the cylinder block 12 and located adjacent to the belt-like member 34; and a projection part 43 which is formed on an outer peripheral surface 24 of the rear housing 14 so as to face the projection part 42 and located adjacent to the belt-like member 34. The projection part 42 and the projection part 43 hold the belt-like member 34 at a predetermined position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
