Provided in an embodiment of the present invention is a method for setting a coverage level of a user end (UE). The method comprises: receiving correspondence information from a communication device, the correspondence information indicating a correspondence relationship between at least one type of a transmission resource and at least one coverage level; receiving from the communication device, at least one segment of control information sent via at least one type of transmission resource, each segment of control information of the at least one segment of control information is sent via one type of transmission resource of the at least one type of transmission resource; parsing at least one segment of control information to obtain content contained in the same; and if the content contained in one segment of control information of the at least one segment of control information contains information indicating an identifier of the UE, then according to the correspondence information, setting the coverage level of the UE to a first coverage level of at least one coverage level, the first coverage level corresponding to one type of transmission resource by which one segment of control information is sent.
