PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light receiving element capable of reducing the ratio of dark current to photocurrent.SOLUTION: A light receiving element according to the present invention comprises a substrate, a semiconductor laminate stacked on the substrate, a plurality of p-type semiconductor regions provided in the semiconductor laminate, and one electrode provided on the semiconductor laminate. A plurality of p-type semiconductor regions are provided from an upper surface of the semiconductor laminate toward the substrate. The semiconductor laminate has a light receiving layer. The semiconductor laminate has a plurality of PN junctions at a boundary between the light receiving layer and the plurality of p-type semiconductor regions.
