PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic tracking device capable of tracking a tracking subject without missing by preventing wrong tracking by reducing an influence on automatic tracking performance even if a tracking region for detecting the tracking subject is changed.SOLUTION: An automatic tracking device has imaging means; driving means of changing a direction in which an image is picked up by the imaging means; detecting means of detecting a tracking object from an image of a detection region, as a partial region of an image of an imaging region, imaged by the imaging means based upon a detection threshold for determining detection of the tracking object, and acquiring a position of the tracking object within the image of the imaging region; and control means of deriving a driving speed of the driving means and a driving direction of the driving means for tracking the tracking object detected by the detecting means based upon the position acquired by the detecting means, and then controlling driving of the driving means, the control means changing the detection region and detection threshold based upon the position acquired by the detecting means and a quantity of variation in driving speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
