PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable precise detection of disconnection of a cell monitor line drawn from a connection point of cells in a battery having serially connected cells.SOLUTION: The disconnection detector includes: a voltage detecting unit for detecting cell voltages of a cell CE1 and a cell CE2 through a cell monitor line; a switching element (Tr1) for applying a reference voltage to the cell monitor line through resistors R21 to R24; a permission determination unit for detecting the cell voltage of each cell through the voltage detecting unit when the switching element is in an OFF state and determining whether making a judgment on whether each cell is disconnected will be permitted; and a disconnection determination unit for turning on the switching element, detecting the cell voltage of a cell which has been permitted to be judged on disconnection by the permission determination unit through the voltage detecting unit, and determining whether the cell monitor line is disconnected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
