An information processing apparatus includes at least extraction, first calculation, recognition, determination, operation receiving, and recording modules. The extraction module extracts a feature amount from an image of a commodity captured by an image capturing module. The first calculation module compares a feature amount of each commodity registered in a dictionary with the extracted feature amount to calculate a similarity degree. The recognition module recognizes, as a commodity candidate, a commodity having a similarity degree higher than a threshold value from registered commodities. The determination module determines, as the captured commodity, a commodity candidate having a highest similarity degree from recognized commodity candidates. The operation receiving module receives operation for instructing an occurrence of incorrect recognition for the determined commodity candidate. The recording module records the occurrence of the incorrect recognition for the determined commodity candidate if the operation is received.

1. An information processing apparatus, comprising:
an extraction module configured to extract a feature amount from an image of a commodity captured by an image capturing module; a first calculation module configured to compare a feature amount of each commodity registered in a dictionary with the feature amount extracted by the extraction module to calculate a similarity degree therebetween; a recognition module configured to recognize, as a commodity candidate, a commodity having a similarity degree that is higher than a threshold value from among commodities registered in the dictionary; a determination module configured to determine, as the commodity captured by the image capturing module, a commodity candidate having a highest similarity degree from among commodity candidates recognized by the recognition module; an operation receiving module configured to receive an operation for instructing on an occurrence of incorrect recognition for the commodity candidate determined by the determination module; and a recording module configured to record the occurrence of the incorrect recognition for the commodity candidate determined by the determination module on condition that the operation receiving module receives the operation.
