According to the present invention, an insert part (3) of a reamer (1) is affixed to a tip part of a body (2A) by screws (8). The insert part (3) is configured by superimposing an insert (4) for finishing processing and an insert (5) for rough processing and forms a right-hand cut right-hand helix. At respective mating surfaces of the inserts (4, 5), convexities and concavities of the mating surface of the insert (4) are made to overlap concavities and convexities of the mating surface of the insert (5). The reamer (1) can enlarge/change the shape of a hole that is formed in a workpiece. Because the inner circumferential surface of the hole is cut by the inserts (4, 5) simultaneously, rough processing and finishing processing can be performed in one pass. Because the respective convexities and concavities of the mating surfaces overlap, one part of each of the inserts (4, 5) overlaps the other in the thickness directions thereof. As a result, the length to which the insert part (3) protrudes can be shortened. |
