A home network service sharing method and apparatus. The method comprises: a home router in a home network receives a multicast search request that is initiated by a UPNP service device connected thereto for searching for a service; the home router, serving as an agent of the multicast search request, searches each virtual local area network in which the home router is located for the service; return the found service to the UPNP service device that initiates the multicast search request. The foregoing solution implements the service search and control in the entire home network by means of a multicast packet between home routers by using the UPNP technology. |
