PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in an ionizing radiation detector of an electron track detection type, the position (direction) determination accuracy of an incident γ ray calculated from detection energy of recoil electrons is reduced since the gain of gas electron amplification is changed by deterioration of gas.SOLUTION: The ionizing radiation detector comprises: a first drift electrode arranged in a chamber; and a first detection part arranged to face the first drift electrode, the first detection part detecting first ionization electrons generated by the compton scattering generated by an incident γ ray in scattered gas. The ionizing radiation detector also comprises: a second drift electrode excited by the incident γ ray to discharge a reference X ray; a second detection part arranged to face the second drift electrode and detecting second ionization electrons generated by photo-electrically absorbing the reference X ray into the scattered gas; and a control part for compensating variation of amplification factors of signals outputted from the first detection part and the second detection part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
