PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mutually joining cotton fibers in a group of cotton fibers of a cotton wool pad or a cotton nonwoven fabric without deteriorating high hygroscopicity, high water absorption and feeling of cotton fibers.SOLUTION: De-greased cotton is ground to obtain fibrillated cotton. The fibrillated cotton is dispersed in water to obtain cotton slurry. The concentration of the fibrillated cotton in the cotton slurry is 1-5 mass%. The mean fiber length of the fibrillated cotton is 0.1 mm or less. Antimicrobial inorganic particulates and deodorant inorganic particulates may be contained in the cotton slurry. The cotton slurry is applied to a cotton fiber group of a cotton wool pad or a cotton nonwoven fabric. Thus, cotton fibers of the cotton wool pad or the cotton nonwoven fabric are mutually joined by the fibrillated cotton.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
