PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision detection device for a vehicle which can accurately detect the occurrence of a collision to a vehicle, and is easy in manufacturing.SOLUTION: A plurality of ultrasonic devices 3U, 3L are attached to a bumper reinforcement 24 of a vehicle VE. The ultrasonic devices 3U, 3L send out ultrasonic waves toward a front part of the vehicle VE. The ultrasonic devices 3U, 3L receive reflection waves which are formed by the reflection of the ultrasonic waves which are sent by the ultrasonic devices 3U, 3L to a bumper cover 22. A deformation amount calculation part of a pedestrian protection ECU 6 calculates a deformation amount of the bumper cover 22 on the basis of a relationship between frequencies of the ultrasonic waves which are sent out by the ultrasonic devices 3U, 3L, and frequencies of the received reflection waves. When the deformation amount of the bumper cover 22 which is calculated by the deformation amount calculation part is larger than a prescribed deformation amount threshold, a collision determination part determines that a collision occurs at the bumper cover 22 of the vehicle VE.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
