PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer type image recording method for achieving process liquid coating property and cleaning property without increasing the number of processes.SOLUTION: In a transfer type image recording method, where an intermediate image formed on an image formation surface of an intermediate transfer body by using a process liquid containing a nonionic surfactant and an ink is transferred to a recording medium and cleaning of the image formation surface after intermediate image transfer is conducted, addition of the process liquid to the image formation surface and cleaning are conducted under following temperature conditions. Temperature of the process liquid added to the image formation surface (T1) and cloud point of the process liquid (Tc1) satisfy a relationship of T1<Tc1. Temperature of a mixed liquid of a balance of the process liquid formed on the image formation surface in a cleaning process and an aqueous cleaning liquid (T2) and cloud point of the mixed liquid (Tc2) satisfy a relationship of T2>Tc2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
