PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve estimation accuracy of the state of a heater, such as abnormality of a heating element and consumption of a base body.SOLUTION: The heating device comprises: a heater including a conductor, a heating element that generates heat when energized, and a ceramic base body that embeds and holds the conductor and the heating element in an isolated state from each other; and an energizing portion for energizing the heating element to cause the heater to generate heat. This heating device comprises: a detecting unit for detecting an electric resistance value of the base body between the conductor and the heating element; and an estimating unit that estimates a state of the heater on the basis of the electric resistance value detected by the detecting unit when energization is performed under predetermined conditions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
