1. A method for measuring protease activity in a feed sample, the method comprising:
(a) preparing a reaction mixture by combining the feed sample, a protease substrate, and a reaction buffer comprising phosphate, wherein the protease substrate comprises a polypeptide attached to a signal producing group which generates a signal upon proteolytic cleavage of the protease substrate; (b) incubating the reaction mixture under conditions that allow for cleavage of the protease substrate such that the signal is generated; and (c) measuring protease activity in the reaction mixture by measuring the signal. |
