A drive method for a display panel. The display panel comprises an array substrate (11) and a data driver (12), wherein the array substrate (11) comprises a pixel unit (111), a common electrode wiring (VCOM), a data line (112) and a scanning line (113), with the pixel unit (111) being respectively connected to the common electrode wiring (VCOM), the data line (112) and the scanning line; and the data driver (12) is connected to the pixel unit (111) via the data line (112). The method comprises: when the initialization of the display panel is started, controlling the pixel unit to be disconnected from the data driver (S101); and after the initialization of the display panel is finished, controlling the pixel unit to be connected to the data driver, so as to enable the data driver to provide a data signal to drive the display panel (S102). Also disclosed is a display panel. The phenomenon of screen flashing occurring at the moment of start-up of a display panel is avoided by disconnecting a pixel unit from a data driver when the display panel is initialized. |
