An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device according to the present invention comprises: a housing which is elongated to be long; a tip coupled to one end of the housing; a motion sensor located at at least one side of the housing; and a control unit for operating in a first mode of recording, in a memory, content corresponding to a motion of the tip or the housing on the basis of a user's operation acquired through the motion sensor and/or a second mode of performing a specific function on the basis of a user's operation, wherein mode switching between the first mode and the second mode is performed when the user's operation acquired through the motion sensor corresponds to a preset operation.
