There is disclosed a method, using a computer system having a database, a processor, and computer display, of displaying, to a products acquirer, information relating to products offered for supply by product suppliers. The method includes providing an online interface for use by the product suppliers for them to offer their products for sale. The interface enables the entry of data relating to the offered products. The method also includes determining one or more category of information pertaining to the products. The method includes storing data provided by the suppliers, including values for predetermined metrics. To each value for each metric, a preferability level according to a predetermined preferability scale is attributed based on the desirability to the product acquirer of the provided values. Also, a significance weighting is applied to each of the metrics, these weightings representing the significance of each of the metrics to the acquirer. The processor then calculates a score amount for each offered product, these scores being based on the preferability levels and significance weightings. A display is provided for the product acquirer with product description details and respective scores attributed to the products to assist the acquirer to assess which products to acquire. |
