PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment method for obtaining a silica particle material introduced with phenylamine and also excellent in treatability.SOLUTION: Provided is a surface treatment method where silica particles are subjected to surface treatment with a silane coupling agent in which an N-phenyl-aminoalkyl group (the alkyl group has the carbon number of 2 to 5) to a silicon atom and organosilazane, in which the molar ratio between the silane coupling agent and the organosilazane being the silane coupling agent: the organosilazane=1:2 to 1:10, and, after the surface treatment step, a solidification step where the silica particle material is precipitated by salt precipitation, and the precipitates are cleaned and dried with water to obtain the solid matter of the silica particle material. By performing the salt precipitation after the surface treatment, the flocculation of the silica particle material subjected to the surface treatment can be effectively suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
