PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable grease to be efficiently guided and supplied to an intermediate part in a tooth width direction of an outer peripheral tooth part of a first gear, and avoid displaced supply of grease at a location near end part of a tooth surface of the outer peripheral tooth part, in a speed reducer including a speed reducing mechanism having a first gear and a second gear engaged to each other in a housing and grease guiding means for guiding grease pushed out to a side surface of the first gear to an outer peripheral tooth part of a worm wheel.SOLUTION: Grease guiding means G includes a scraping surface Fk for scraping and lifting up grease [g] on a wheel side surface W1s as a worm wheel W1 is rotated, and a deep surface Fv in a vertical direction cooperatively arranged at the scraping surface. The deep surface Fv includes a first deep surface part Fv1 extending from an upper end part of the scraping surface Fk in an upward direction and a second deep surface part Fv2 extending from the first deep surface part Fv1 to a position just above an intermediate part in a tooth width direction of the wheel outer peripheral teeth part W1g as the grease scraping action is carried out by the scraping surface Fk.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
