PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston of an internal combustion engine capable of excellently performing lubrication between the piston and a cylinder bore, and capable of reducing dragging resistance of the piston due to oil.SOLUTION: In a piston 7 provided in an engine, vertical grooves 41, 42A, 42B, 43A, 43B extending parallely with a central shaft C of a piston crown part 9 are formed on at least an upper skirt part 36 and a lower skirt part 38, and in a direction orthogonal to the central shaft C of the piston crown part 9, the vertical grooves 41, 42A, 42B, 43A, 43B are installed within a range in a direction in which piston pin boss parts 14, 15 extend.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
