PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change a current applied to an actuator on the basis of the magnitude of torque input to a meshing-type engagement mechanism from a power source.SOLUTION: A vehicle control apparatus is used for controlling a vehicle that includes: a power division mechanism having a carrier connected to an engine, a sun gear connected to a motor, and a link gear for outputting torque to a drive shaft; and an engagement mechanism that has a rotary engagement element integrally rotating with the sun gear and a stationary engagement element fixed in an unrotatable manner, and that selectively fixes the sun gear un-rotatably. When the engagement mechanism in an engagement state sustains reactive force of torque output from the engine (Yes for step S1), the control apparatus lowers a retention current applied to an actuator as input torque input to the rotary engagement element from the engine increases (steps S4, S5).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
