PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal print head which is suitable for improving an adverse effect to print quality.SOLUTION: A thermal print head comprises: a base material 11; an electrode layer 3 formed at the base material 11; a resistance body layer 4 formed at the base material 11; and a protection layer which covers the resistance body layer 4 and the electrode layer 3. The resistance body layer 4 includes a plurality of heat generation parts 41 which are aligned along a main scanning direction Y, and the electrode layer 3 includes a plurality of relay electrodes 33 which contact with a pair of the adjacent heat generation parts 41, and are aligned along the main scanning direction Y. A plurality of the relay electrodes 33 have pairs of relay electrode band-shaped parts 331 which contact with a pair of the adjacent heat generation parts 41, respectively, and extend to one side of a sub-scanning direction X, connecting parts 332 which are connected to pairs of the relay electrode band-shaped parts 331, and extend to the main scanning direction Y, and extension parts 333 which are connected to the connecting parts 332, and extend to one side of the sub-scanning direction X from the connecting parts 332.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
