PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning endoscope capable of realizing excellent insertability with respect to the duct line, etc., by making the diameter of the tip area of the distal section further smaller.SOLUTION: The scanning endoscope is configured as follows. A detection fiber bundle 16 for guiding incident light is arranged along an illumination tube 43 of a light source unit 40; and a light-receiving surface 16a installed on a tip surface of the detection fiber bundle 16 is arranged at proximal side than the tip of the illumination tube 43. A region including the light-receiving surface 16a of the detection fiber bundle 16 from the outer periphery of the illumination tube 43 is covered with a transparent outer coat 50 which can change the traveling direction of the incident light, to thereby guide the incident light entering the transparent outer coat 50 to the light-receiving surface 16a of the detection fiber bundle 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
