PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue storing currencies for a long period with a simple structure and handling.SOLUTION: A currency storage device of an embodiment comprises a first storage chamber, a second storage chamber, first storage means, detection means, and second storage means. The first storage chamber stores currencies for every denomination. The second storage chamber stores currencies. The first storage means causes the first storage chamber to store currencies put into a put-in port. The detection means detects a denomination which causes an overflow, when the first storage means stores a currency in the first storage chamber. When the detection means detects a denomination which causes an overflow, the second storage means stores in the second storage chamber at least the number of currencies which cause an overflow and whose denomination is the one detected by the detection means, out of currencies stored in the first storage chamber, before currencies are stored in the first storage chamber by the first storage means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
