PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat generation rate waveform creation device of an internal combustion engine capable of defining a combustion state of fuel in a cylinder of the internal combustion engine at high accuracy, and a combustion state diagnosing device.SOLUTION: In a diesel engine, when an ideal heat generation rate waveform model is created to each reaction form of fuel injected in a cylinder, a reaction speed and a reaction start timing of a high-temperature oxidation reaction due to premix combustion of the fuel are corrected in light of a fuel additive added to the fuel, so as to create the ideal heat generation rate waveform model. The ideal heat generation rate waveform model is made smooth by filter-processing, so as to create the ideal heat generation rate waveform of each reaction form. Whether abnormality occurs or not is diagnosed by comparing the ideal heat generation rate waveform of each reaction with an actual heat generation rate waveform found from the detected cylinder inner pressure. |
