PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the failure determination of a failure tendency component which is difficult to discover failure at an early stage by determination, because the failure tendency product uses a fixed value which is impossible for setting change in an operation state after setting at the shipment of a device.SOLUTION: A communication device includes: a plurality of optical transmission units each including a laser diode, a photo diode for monitoring the output of the LD, a control circuit for supplying bias current to a driving circuit that drives the laser diode on the basis of a power monitor value, and for transmitting the current monitor value of the bias current, and a temperature monitor circuit for measuring the temperature of the LD; an average value calculation unit for calculating the average value of a plurality of current monitor values; a temperature correction unit for correcting the temperature of the current monitor values on the basis of the output of the temperature monitor circuit; and a failure determination unit for determining failure in the optical transmission units on the basis of the average value and the plurality of corrected current monitor values.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
