PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stirrer for glass production which is useful for stirring a high-viscosity molten glass, has a high stirring effect and causes less deformation and breakage.SOLUTION: A stirrer for glass production consists of a stirrer shaft and a plurality of stages of rod-like stirrer blades which penetrate and are fixed to the stirrer shaft. The stirrer blades are a hollow columnar body consisting of a cylinder formed by seam-welding two opposite sides of a flat plate composed of e.g. an enhanced platinum consisting of matrix of platinum or a platinum alloy dispersed with a metal oxide and a disc which is welded, entirely in the circumference, to both ends of the cylinder and composed of the same material. The welding line penetrates so as to intersect the central axis of the stirrer shaft and is fixed so that the trajectory of the end part is spiral. The rod-like stirrer blades have a core layer which shows a dispersion structure unaffected by a thermal effect due to fixation, in the cross section of a fixed part with the stirrer shaft. |
