A toroidal continuously variable transmission comprising: two cavities each configured by a pair of discs (2, 4; 3, 5), surfaces of the pair of discs (2, 4; 3, 5) which are faced to each other in a rotation central axis direction being configured as toroidal surfaces; a first, a second, a third and a fourth trunnion (14, 15, 16, 17); a first, a second, a third and a fourth power roller (8, 9, 10, 11); each cavity comprising two of said power rollers (8, 9, 10, 11) sandwiched between the pair of discs and configured to transmit torque between the pair of discs, each power rollers (8, 9, 10, 11) being held rotatably by one of said trunnions (14, 15, 16, 17); and a link mechanism configured to connect trunnion shafts (14b, 15b, 16b, 17b) provided in the trunnions (14, 15, 16, 17) to each other, the link mechanism including a first link member (22), a second link member (23), a third link member (24), and a fourth link member (25), whereas the first link member (22) connects the first trunnion (14) that holds the first power roller (8) to the second trunnion (15) that holds the second power roller (9); the second link member (23) connects the third trunnion (16) that holds the third power roller (10) to the fourth trunnion (17) that holds the fourth power roller (11); the third link member (24) connects the first trunnion (14) to the third trunnion (16); the fourth link member 25 connects the second trunnion (15) to the fourth trunnion (17), characterized in that third (24) and the fourth (25) link member are configured to allow deviation between relative positions of the first trunnion (14) and the third trunnion (16) or between the second trunnion (15) and the fourth trunnion (17), respectively, in the axis direction of the trunnion shafts (14b, 15b, 16b, 17b). |
